About Carol

Carol aspires to convey with others the treasures of self-awareness, inner balance, IMG_1520well-being and healing she has found through Yoga, Meditation, Reflexology and Reiki.

The body-mind-spirit connection is an integral part of her teaching, with particular emphasis on the breath as the connector. Carol’s passion for yoga intersects beautifully with her passion for the game of golf. Thus, she has “married” the two passions in teaching the practice of yoga and the benefits of yoga to golfers.

Carol is constantly amazed at the myriad healing benefits of the practice of yoga and meditation for anyone on the physical, mental and emotional planes. She has been practicing and studying yoga under a rich and eclectic variety of teachers since 1999. She holds an E-RYT® 200, an RYT® 500 and YACEP® certifications through Yoga Alliance. She also completed the SOMA (Science of Mindful Awareness) meditation teacher certification program under Dr. Deborah Norris at The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, MD.  Carol is also a certified Katherine Roberts Yoga for Golfers TM yoga teacher.

Carol is a certified Third Degree Reiki Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki system of natural healing and is a Certified Reflexologist.

Recognizing the transformative, healing effects of yoga and meditation not only for all individuals, but how the practice can be extremely beneficial in the realm of mental health, she took a further step and pursued training and certification in teaching trauma-sensitive yoga to military vets and others suffering from PTSD. This special training has enabled her to offer/take yoga to special populations that cannot otherwise seek out yoga classes, such as homeless shelters.  See Carol’s Yoga for Good page for more on these seva (service) programs and how you can get involved.
